short-interval scheduling

short-interval scheduling
Ops
a technique for assigning a planned quantity of work to a workstation, to be completed in a specific time. Short-interval scheduling was pioneered during the 1930s by large mailorder houses in the United States and was widely used in the 1950s to provide greater control of routine and semi-routine processes through regular checks of individual performance over short spans of time. Shortinterval scheduling enables productivity to be improved, as all delays can be identified and corrected at an early stage.
